Delete Your Account
This page explains how to delete your ComicBrain account, operated by Apparent Group Limited, and what happens to your data when you do. You can delete the account yourself inside the app, or ask us to do it for you.
1. Delete your account in the app
This is the fastest route and takes effect immediately.
- Open ComicBrain and sign in.
- Go to Settings → Account.
- Select Delete Account.
- Choose a reason, then confirm your identity: enter your current password, or tap Confirm with Google / Confirm with Apple if that is how you signed up.
Once you confirm, the deletion runs straight away and you are signed out.
The confirmation step is a security measure, not an extra hurdle — it proves the request is coming from you and not from someone who picked up an unlocked phone.
2. Ask us to delete it for you
If you cannot get into the app, or would rather we handled it, email hello@apparentgroup.co from the address registered to your account with the subject "Delete my account". You can also use our contact form and pick the privacy topic.
We verify that a request comes from the account owner before acting on it, and we respond within the period required by applicable law.
3. What gets deleted
Deleting your account removes:
- Your account and sign-in credentials.
- Your profile details, including your display name and profile photo.
- Your collection records — every long box and every comic saved to your collection.
- Your saved scans and the card images stored with them.
As set out in our Privacy Policy, we delete or anonymise your profile, saved scans and collection records within 30 days, except where we are required by law (for example, tax records tied to subscription receipts) to retain certain records for longer.
This cannot be undone. Deleted long boxes, scans and images cannot be recovered, so note down anything you want to keep before you start.
4. Cancel your subscription separately
Deleting your account does not cancel an active subscription, because subscriptions are managed by the app store rather than by us. Cancel first, then delete:
- Google Play — Play Store → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → ComicBrain → Cancel subscription.
- Apple App Store — Settings → your name → Subscriptions → ComicBrain → Cancel Subscription.
